Maps of murals & vacant buildings and stuff
Are you looking for a little adventure? Heather Myers Barker and John Murden have put together a map of murals and street art across South Richmond. Get out for a choose-your-own-adventure walking or bike tour of local art!
We've also mapped out the city's list of vacant properties (and who owns them)! Fun fact - the current list is from October 2023 and shows 674 vacant buildings in the city. The October 2015 version listed over 1,600 empty buildings!
Know your new trails!
There are 3 multi-use trails in the works in the Richmond area:
- The Fall Line Trail is the longest of the bunch and will connect Ashland to Petersburg by way of Richmond.
- The Crooked Branch Trail is the shortest of the 3 and will connect Crutchfield to 42nd.
- Very close to the end of Crooked Branch on Crutchfield, the James River Branch Trail will connect Westover Hills Boulevard to Hopkins Road.
The latter two are fast tracked due to funding requirements and should be completed in the next 2 years or so.

It's been just over a year since Kings Supermarket burned and theres no real sign that they are re-opening soon. (We need more grocery stores!)
HHHunt has started work on a new 140 home neighborhood on Hopkins Road.
