Some resolution for Keeshae Jacobs

Toni Jacobs, mother of Keeshae Jacobs who has been missing since 2016, shared that a memorial for Keeshae will take place on Friday, May 10.

Keeshae Jacobs was last seen on Monday, September 26, 2016 leaving her home off of Erich Road on foot. She was known to have gone to the 3100 block of East Broad Street in Church Hill. Toni Jacobs has kept a continual search for her missing daughter since 2016. Her most recent Missing Persons Day was held just weeks ago in Forest Hill Park.

WTVR has a statement from the Richmond Police Department:

“The Richmond Police Department can confirm new information in the missing person investigation of Keeshae Jacobs has been provided to the family,” a Richmond Police spokesperson told CBS 6 News. “Detectives have never ceased investigating the Keeshae Jacobs case since her disappearance in September 2016. We have worked with the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney to provide the family with the details as we know them, regarding what we now understand to be the tragic situation which led to the death of Jacobs. In respect to family members, further information will be released at a later time.”

Granite Community Foundation works to preserve Green Cemetery

The Richmond Free Press has the story of a group working to preserve Green Cemetery off of Gravel Hill Road:

Bridget Blake’s mother’s property is in front of Green Cemetery and connected to Gravel Hill Baptist Church. The family land was Ms. Blake’s great-grandfather Robert Green’s and his brothers’, dating back to the 1800s. The property will be passed down to Ms. Blake.

Granite was “all slave property,” Ms. Blake said. Over time, outside families bought property in Granite, which led to gravesites being on other properties. At least 50 people are buried on the Blake property. More graves are on two other properties across from the Blake property, Ms. Blake said.
